The Tedeschi family, rooted in the Napa Valley for generations, began their winemaking legacy when Eugene Tedeschi planted the first grapes on their Calistoga property in the 1960s. Originally from Italy, the family moved to California in 1919, engaging in various ventures before settling in Calistoga. Eugene, who purchased the current winery estate in the 1950s, transformed it by planting grapevines amidst fruit trees. His son, Emil, co-founded Tedeschi Vineyards in Maui in 1974 but returned to Napa Valley in 1991 to fulfill his dream of redeveloping his father's orchards. Today, Emil, with his two sons and daughter, continues the family commitment to crafting award-winning, old-world style wines true to their terroir.
