Description:

Update: Sadly, the Bates Motel was demolished.

The Sunset Pacific Motel got its nickname for two reasons - its general seediness and its location next to Bates Avenue. It was built in the mid 1900s and became a place of ill-repute with anything and everything illegal happening on its premises. Somewhere around 2015 French artist Vincent Lamoreaux painted the building and the surrounding palms trees a glaring white. Almost every single inch - all white. He called the work of art "Projection." We see it as a statement - perhaps metaphorically washing away the sins of the past. The building's future is still unknown as it has been slated for demolition at least once in the past several years.
