The Cardiff Kook

Don’t know if there’s a world title for “Most Punk’d Statue Ever,” but if there was, this bronze tribute to surfing might be the winner. Officially titled “Magic Surfer Ride,” this hapless statue is locally known as “The Cardiff Kook.” It’s inspired a series of epic pranks, ranging from the construction of a huge open-mouth shark around its base to placement within a dinosaur-themed diorama. Maybe the area just inspires weirdness; see the Boat Houses nearby.
