Description:
As it turns out, age really is relative. At approximately 2,500 years old, this colossal tree can be considered, of all things, young when compared to other sequoias. Named after legendary American Civil War general William Sherman by naturalist James Wolverton, a lieutenant who once served under him, the tree is, by volume, the largest known living stem tree on Earth.
