The Roosevelt Tree

Update: The Roosevelt Tree in Big Pine, CA was sadly cut down on September 28, 2020. The tree lost its water source, a roadside creek, in the 2017-18 drought. The Big Pine Civic Club tried everything they could to save the 107-year-old Giant Sequoia, including enlisting tree experts from the University of California. This giant sequoia has been here since 1913 when it was first planted. Although Roosevelt had finished his second term in 1909 the tree was yet named in his honor. The tree is located right where the Hwy 395 and 168 meet. (Submitted by Mabel Yu)
