The Theme Building

This space-age structure was completed in the not-so-recent past, 1961 to be exact. It was a symbol of many things - postwar prosperity, leaving the past to focus on the future, and the move to make L.A. one of the most important cities in the world. Although it looks precariously situated on its long, slender arches it has recently been reinforced to ensure it can withstand anything that Mother Nature throws at it including earthquakes.
