Vedanta Society of SoCal

The Taj Mahal in Hollywood? Not quite but this remarkable temple is a treat to come across. Tucked behind the 101 freeway, Vedanta Society of Hollywood is a spiritual oasis you'd never expect to find in Tinseltown. Established in the 1930s by Swami Prabhavananda, its mission is to encourage harmony between western and eastern thought. All are welcome as Vedanta also highlights the unity of all religions. This location has a monastery, convent, temple, bookstore, and library. To educate and help people attain enlightenment, the society offers lectures, classes, and a ceremonial worship called "puja."
