Unfortunately, the Wawona Tunnel Tree fell during a winter storm in 1969 and the trunk was later removed. While the tree is no longer standing, the tunnel carved through its trunk remains a historic landmark in Yosemite and a reminder of the park's rich history and unique natural wonders.
