Description:

Black Canyon is a deep and narrow canyon with steep cliffs and craggy spires that have been sculpted over time by the Gunnison River with the aid of the forces of weathering. Here you'll be able to hike both South and North rims as well as the Inner Canyon with it more strenuous hikes for those with advanced hiking abilities. You can also take in the gorgeous scenic route or even some trout fishing if you yearn for a more relaxing time at the Canyon. Other activities include kayaking (experienced kayakers only), rock climbing, or simple wildlife watching. Also, various activities are available throughout the seasons like in winter you can try the cross country ski clinic or the ranger-led snowshoe walks (they'll even provide the snowshoes).
