Description:
Soldier, bison hunter, and founder of his own Wild West show are only a few accomplishments of William Cody. Named for the 48 buffalo he supposedly killed in 30 minutes, Buffalo Bill was surprisingly progressive in other areas - especially in regards to the rights of women and Native Americans. He died at the age of 70 and was laid to rest here. This museum illustrates the most important aspects of this man whose legend is larger than life. It also houses Native American artifacts, firearms, and other Old West artifacts. His gravesite overlooks the Great Plains and the Rockies - a perfect setting on a hilltop with great views and photo opps.
