Colorado National Monument features spectacularly deep cut canyons into sandstone and granite rock formations with its feature attraction being Monument Canyon running the park's width and includes Independence Monument, the Kissing Couple, and Coke Ovens. The monument hosts a wide range of wildlife that includes red-tailed hawks, golden eagles, ravens, jays, desert bighorn sheep, and coyotes. Activities at the monument are many including hiking, horseback riding, road bicycling, and scenic drives. There is also a gift shop, visitor center, and natural history museum.
