Kit Carson Observation Tower

This ornate metal structure on U.S. Highway 40 appears to be welded out of old rusty tools and metal objects. Built out of scrap metal by a retired submarine welder in the 1950s, this 35-foot tall structure marked his property in the town of Aroya (which is now a ghost town) before it was moved here.
