This monster-sized West Indian Hercules Beetle named "Herkimer" was built in the mid-1950s as an eye-grabbing roadside attraction for the May Museum of the Tropics. It was moved, along with the museum, to Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida. When the Florida museum closed in the early 1960s, the beetle was returned to its current spot where its mandibles await you!
