Located in the posh Georgetown neighborhood of DC, this magnificent estate was built in the early 1900s and now houses an impressive collection of Byzantine and Pre-Columbian artwork. The house museum is free and open year round while the gardens require a nominal fee for admission. Check the website to make sure the gardens and museum are operating as normal - they sometimes close down for renovations and repairs. (Photo by Anthony VonPlinsky)
