Blue Spring State Park

This is the one of the most popular tourist spots to see the gentle giants native to this region of the North America. Researchers record manatee observations and lifespans here as the federally protected endangered mammals will convene here in large numbers. Other activities include kayaking, camping, and the historical Thursby plantation. Fees are $6 per vehicle and the park is open every day from 8 AM to sundown. (Submitted by Alida Bigham)
