Description:
The Columbia Restaurant, established in 1905 in Tampa's historic Ybor City neighborhood, is Florida’s oldest restaurant and the largest Spanish restaurant in the United States. Founded by Cuban immigrant Casimiro Hernandez Sr., it began as a small café serving Cuban coffee and sandwiches to local cigar workers. Over the decades, it expanded into a grand dining destination known for its Spanish and Cuban cuisine, including its iconic 1905 Salad and tableside flamenco performances. Still family-owned, the restaurant has become a cherished Tampa institution, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the area.
