Description:

The Indialantic Casino, a two-story Mediterranean Revival building designed by William Christen and developed by Herbert Earle, opened here on December 22, 1923. It featured shops, an Olympic-sized saltwater pool, a tall diving tower, and wading pools, becoming a social hub in Melbourne. It hosted winter guests, club meetings, socials, galas, and beauty pageants. During WWII, the pool trained military personnel from the Banana River Naval Station. Renamed the Bahama Beach Club after a 1942 renovation, it remained an exclusive club until purchased by the Town of Indialantic in 1967. The building was demolished in 1970 and is now a Florida Heritage Site.
