Joen and the Giant Beetle

A playful giant sits with his legs akimbo, supporting one arm on an overturned car and looking through a tire used as a spyglass. Constructed out of recycled wood chips, the giant represents the virtually irrevocable amounts of waste that humans have created. Danish artist Thomas Dambo constructed the giant for the 2019 Art Basel art fair in Miami. (Submitted by Pam Moran)
