Description:

Named after the president who was in office during America's first manned moon landing this is one of NASA's 10 field centers and the place where many space expeditions are launched. It was established in 1962, but is surprisingly an important ecological area too. Because the surrounding land is undeveloped and highly restricted, native wildlife has been allowed to thrive. The Visitor Complex features exhibits, displays, memorabilia, two IMAX theatres, and several bus tours. The complex also has daily presentations from a veteran NASA astronaut. A relatively short distance away from Disney World, the Kennedy Space Center should definitely be on your itinerary when visiting this part of Florida!
