Lovers Key Beach

A particularly sublime stretch of beach can be found in the midst of a cluster of barrier islands in the Gulf of Mexico. Dolphins and manatees can sometimes be seen swimming in the shallow, brackish waters, while a variety of sea birds will flit around on the soft, white, sandy beach. There are trails, picnic benches, and restrooms for visitors. Expect to pay a small fee for parking. (Submitted by Stacy Botzos)
