Monument of States

Saves: 81
Check-ins: 22
Constructed by volunteers this pyramid-like structure was built in 1943 as a way of expressing American unity after the attack on Pearl Harbor. In 2001 the monument was refinished after spending over half a decade weathering the elements. You might notice that Hawaii and Alaska are not represented; they were only territories in 1943 and did not become a part of the union until 1959 (Hawaii) and 1960 (Alaska).
