Description:
A wastewater area was turned into something that people could enjoy. Nature approves too; there are more than 150 species of birds along with alligators, turtles, rabbits, and raccoons. A 3/4 mile boardwalk crosses the wetlands so that visitors can take pictures or simply ponder the peaceful surroundings. This is a great area for bird watchers too! Owned by the Southern Region Water Reclamation Facility, at the wetlands over 2 million gallons of treated wastewater is pumped, returning back fresh water. No pets are allowed on the boardwalk. Hours are daily from 7 AM to 7 PM.
