Description:
Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar began as a private home around 1910 before being raised in the early 1920s to make room for a deli that opened in 1922. After Prohibition it became licensed to serve beer and wine and is recognized as Atlanta’s oldest continuously licensed tavern. The restaurant was revitalized in 1983 by Warren Bruno and later carried on by his wife Sandra Spoon who helped maintain its status as a beloved Virginia Highland gathering spot. Today it is known for popular dishes such as confit chicken wings, fried green tomatoes, Georgia trout, slow cooked short ribs with cauliflower grits, and jumbo chicken tenders.
