Fort Pulaski

This national monument located on Cockspur Island was historically significant during the Civil War. It was the site of weapons testing by the Union Army, specifically the rifled cannon which was powerful enough to destroy brick fortifications. Quite appropriately, Fort Pulaski is a filming location of the 2012 horror film "Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies."
