Jimmy Carter Smiling Peanut

This 13-foot peanut was donated by the Indiana Democratic Party and it was used for Carter's 1976 presidential campaign. The peanut has a toothy smile which does look very similar to the 39th president's infectious grin. The cheesy gimmick worked - Carter won every county in Georgia including his hometown of Plains.
