Description:
Leopold’s Ice Cream was founded in Savannah in 1919 by three Greek immigrant brothers, George, Peter, and Basil, who built a loyal following with recipes made from fresh ingredients. The shop closed in 1969 after the original owners passed away, but in 2004 Peter’s son Stratton, a Hollywood producer, revived the parlor on Broughton Street using many of the original fixtures and family recipes. Today, Leopold’s continues to be a beloved Savannah landmark, famous for its classic Tutti Frutti flavor and nostalgic soda fountain atmosphere.
