The Sorrel Weed House located in Savannah is said to be one of the most haunted houses in the city. The house was built in the early 1840s and has a long and storied history that is said to be the source of its haunting. One of the most famous stories associated with the house is the legend of the "Lady in Black." According to the legend, a woman named Matilda Sorrel, who was the wife of the home's original owner, committed suicide by jumping from the second-floor balcony after discovering her husband's infidelity. It's said that her spirit still haunts the house to this day, appearing as a dark figure wearing a black dress.
