Description:

Built in 1925, this magnificent movie house was, at the time, Hawaii’s grandest entertainment venue ever built outside of the state capital, Honolulu. Not only did people flock there on a daily basis to see the latest and greatest flicks out of Hollywood, but tots gathered at the Palace Theatre on Saturday mornings from the early ‘30s to the mid ‘50s for Mickey Mouse Club meetings. Today, the Palace is a renowned center for the arts, specializing in arthouse films, silent movies with live organ accompaniment (to carry on the classic movie house tradition), concerts, plays, as well as a host of other cultural events.
