Wood Valley Temple

Those in need of rest, relaxation, and spiritual rejuvenation should definitely check out Nechung Dorje Drayang Ling ("Immutable Island of Melodious Sound")—a lovely, secluded Tibetan Buddhist Temple and 25-acre retreat, hidden away in Wood Valley within the Ka’u district, a.k.a. the “spiritual heart” of Hawaii. Great teachers of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, have come here to impart their knowledge to those eager to learn. Come out for a day visit (a $5 donation allows you entrance inside the temple) or, for an extended getaway, stay in one of their guest rooms decorated in the beautiful Asian Pacific style.
