Not only is the Hanapepe Valley a beautiful sight to behold, its rich soil was cultivated by taro farmers since ancient times. The valley’s primordial beauty was also used to full effect by Steven Spielberg who chose this location to shoot his prehistoric thriller Jurassic Park. From this lookout point, you’ll get a breathtaking view of the green, fertile river valley which winds between Hanapepe’s grand mountain ranges. For a birds-eye view, you can book a helicopter ride or even a powered hang glider, if you’re bold enough! The lovely town of Hanapepe, the art capital of Kauai, is filled with galleries, quaint shops, and tasty eateries, and was also the inspiration for the town in Disney’s animated classic Lilo and Stitch.
