Hideaway Beach (also known as Pali Ke Kua) in Princeville on Kauai’s North Shore is a small, secluded gem tucked beneath steep ocean bluffs, accessible via a challenging trail that rewards visitors with golden sands and tranquil, crystal-clear waters. The beach is framed by dramatic cliffs and lush rainforest, with a vibrant coral reef offshore teeming with colorful fish and sea turtles, an idyllic setting for snorkeling and quiet relaxation during calm ocean conditions. Despite its remote charm, visitors should prepare carefully: parking is extremely limited, there are no facilities, and winter surf or rain can make the descent and swimming hazardous.
