Ho'opi'i Falls

A series of falls on the island of Kauai, the Ho'op'i Falls are notable for their appearance in Jurassic Park. The movie setting, however, was supposed to be in the Domincan Republic - the Mano de Dios (Hand of God) Amber Mine where that fate-changing fossilized resin-trapped mosquito was discovered. You can take an intense hike - the distance of which is about 2.4 miles out and back. While the trail isn't long it can be difficult to navigate. Many visitors enjoy cliff jumping, but it's not recommended due to the rocks that line the pools.
