Description:
Ladd & Co operated when Hawaii was still a kingdom. It was the first to make the small family sugar plantations of Hawaii into a large-scale effort, mass producing the sweet substance. Many factors contributed to the company's closure and the brick ruins are the only remnants of the operation. There's also a monument more recently installed, dedicated to the people who provided the hard labor in Hawaii's sugar industry.
