Description:

Off Olowalu Village Road in Lahaina, Hawaii, you'll find Olowalu also known as Pu'u Kilea. Over 100 ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs are chiseled in the rock cliff surfaces in West Maui. To get here take the road accessible from the side of the Olowalu General Store (at mile marker 15). Visitors have the option of either parking near the water tower and following the path up to the cliffs or driving up the road to get closer to the cliffs. The petroglyphs begin at the dirt road at the top. Remember that this is a historic site so stay on the path and avoid touching the carvings to preserve the site. This site is open to the public during daylight hours and is free to enter.
