Waimoku Falls

These stunning falls, the largest in Maui, mark the final destination of the Pipiwai Trail—a four-mile round trip hike that will take you rock-hopping across two streams, a beautiful bamboo forest, and eventually up to an elevation of approximately 800 feet. Once you reach the end of the trail, you’ll witness the waters of Waimoku Falls plunge all of 400 feet into the pool below, but, as with all falls, the amount of flow largely depends on the amount of rainfall that season. Heed the warning signs to stay clear of the base of the falls, as the powerful waters regularly cause rocks to topple downward—and getting hit by one would certainly put a damper on your hike, to say the least. So use caution and enjoy the view.
