Kahana Bay Beach Park

Beautiful Kahana Bay Beach is where locals and visitors-in-the-know go to escape the more widely known, and congested, beaches of Oahu. This crescent shaped white sand beach is surrounded by the majestic mountain ranges of the lush Kahana Valley, and its warm waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking (though you’ll have to supply your own). Picnic on the sand or find a shaded park bench within the nearby ironwood tree forest. There are also two trails into Kahana valley, if you’re up for taking a hike. However, don’t expect much by way of facilities at this lesser known park, as all you’ll get are small changing rooms and portable toilets. The beauty and solitude of the area, however, are more than worth the sacrifice of a few creature comforts.
