Kailua Beach

This white sand beach on the windward side of Oahu is popular among locals as it provides perfect conditions for a host of beach activities and water sports. It’s a common sight to see the beach packed with sunbathers, dog walkers, and joggers, while windsurfers, swimmers, stand up paddlers, and kite surfers populate the waters. Another draw to this location are the little islands that can be seen from the beach including Flat Island and the twin Mokulua Islands (the “Moks”)—popular exploration spots for adventure seekers. Nearby Kailua Town is renowned for its laid back atmostphere, quaint shops, and restaurants. President Obama and family also helped boost the town’s fame by enjoying a frosty treat at Kailua’s popular Island Snow Shave Ice shop.
