Panaewa Rainforest Zoo

Admission is free, parking is free, and they're open every day of the year except Christmas and New Year's Day. The question is - why wouldn't you go here? This rainforest zoo is one of the hidden gems of the Hilo. Since you're paying virtually nothing for the outing, you can buy some knick-knacks at the gift shop and leave a donation. Best time to come is at 1:30 when the alligators are fed!
