Certainly compelling, this feminine figure lying deep in the earth with a coverlet of green grass with one palm outstretched is carved from Indiana limestone. She is inspired by the Greek muses who were thought to be responsible for artistic and scientific creativity in humans. This unique sculpture was created by artists Don Lawler and Meg White and installed on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center in 2006. If you come during the spring or summer, you might catch a glimpse of the two trumpeter swans, Louis and Serena. (Submitted by Brianna Duddy)
