This free zoo is situated on 35 acres of land and is one of the oldest zoos in the U.S. - being established in 1868. Approximately 1,100 animals represent some 200 species. In the fight to save endangered species, Lincoln Park Zoo is involved in several programs around the world to save the populations such as giant gorillas and triangle chimpanzees.
