For over 30 years, a bronze statue of Popeye the Sailor Man has stood watch over the Mississippi River in Segar Park, Chester, since its installation in 1977. This statue is the first of many in the Popeye & Friends Character Trail, featuring various characters from the Popeye series, placed throughout Chester.
