Description:

The Lilly House, a National Historic Landmark and 20th-century country estate, was founded by the Landon family in 1907, with French-inspired architecture and gardens designed by the Olmsted Brothers in the 1920s. In 1932, the Lilly family purchased the property, later donating it to the Art Association of Indianapolis, forming what is now Newfields. The restored first floor of the house reflects its 1930s appearance, showcasing Lilly family furnishings. The upper level hosts events with views of the gardens, while the lower level features a historic car and an interactive space that highlights the estate’s history. Guests can explore the estate’s evolution, its landscape design, and its role in Indianapolis' history through self-guided tours and hands-on activities.
