After WWII, priests of the Carmelite order built a shrine in Munster to make this suburb more welcoming to the displaced Poles settling here. The centerpiece, Grotto of the Holy Mother, is a cavern of mineral rocks and lighted candles. Some of the other shrines include Jesus nailed to the cross and a memorial chapel with the interior illuminated with black lights.
