The Black Angel Statue, also known as the Ruth Anne Dodge Memorial, is a bronze monument located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Designed by sculptor Daniel Chester French, it was commissioned by General Grenville M. Dodge in memory of his wife. Standing at eight feet tall, the statue depicts an angel of death with spread wings and draped robes. Over the years, it has turned black due to a chemical reaction, leading to various legends and superstitions claiming supernatural powers associated with the statue. (Submitted by Sofia Bullins)
