Fjord Færgemand (Fjord Ferryman) is a towering wooden troll sculpture by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, unveiled in April 2026 at the Museum of Danish America. Built from reclaimed wood with the help of local volunteers, the 22-foot-tall troll stands in a wooden boat, symbolically ferrying Danish immigrants across the prairie and honoring the region’s rich Danish heritage. Nestled within the museum’s prairie landscape park, this whimsical giant invites visitors to step aboard, explore, and become part of the story themselves.
