John Wayne's Birthplace

One of the most iconic figures in Americana and the man who made the Western (and just as famously horribly portrayed Genghis Khan) was born in the tiny town of Winterset. A seven-foot tall bronze statue of John Wayne stands in front of the museum which is small but filled with interesting memorabilia.
