Description:
This grist mill was built in 1860, pulverizing grains into flour. It also served as a way to provide hydroelectric power to the local area. On your tour, you will learn how grain was milled. You'll get a handful of buckwheat seeds which you'll weigh, grind, and sift into a silky, fine flour. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day and costing a mere two bucks per person, the Lidtke Mill is one the best summertime values in Iowa.
