Description:
The Squirrel Cage Jail is one of the old rotary jails built in the late 1800s and in use until the mid 1900s. On each floor the jail cells were built like triangular piece of pie. Only one jail cell could be accessed at a time via an opening that was revealed when a guard turned a crank. Unfortunately, prisoners sometimes had limbs crushed or didn't have access to food when the system broke down. Gruesome prisoner deaths because of the rotary system has been the source of speculation that this jail is haunted.
