This POW camp operated from 1943-1945 and was used for German Army prisoners who were captured during WWII in Africa. It was a gigantic complex consisting of 300 buildings and was said to have held 4,000 prisoners at one time. Now used for farming and agriculture, most of the artifacts and documents from the prison have been moved to a museum.
