Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que is a popular barbecue restaurant located at 3002 W. 47th Ave. in Kansas City, KS. It was originally founded in 1996 as "Oklahoma Joe's" by Jeff and Joy Stehney, but changed its name to "Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que" in 2014 due to a legal dispute with a similarly named restaurant in Oklahoma. Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que has gained national recognition for its delicious barbecue and has been featured on numerous food shows and publications. Its most famous menu item is the Z-Man sandwich, which consists of sliced smoked brisket, smoked provolone cheese, topped with crispy onion rings, and served on a toasted Kaiser roll.
